About

Born and raised in Southern California, Alec grew up with a loving and supportive

family that taught him to take risks and pursue what’s important to oneself. From a young

age, Alec was an active kid, playing all kinds of sports including baseball, basketball, and even

fencing. Always being a lover of story-telling, and growing up with regular trips to the local

amusement parks: Disneyland and Universal Studios, where he was exposed to the

excitement and heart of theatrics. It wasn’t until going to summer camp and partaking in the

acting electives purely out of the joy of playing pretend and being jealous of the Disney stars

of the mid to late 2000’s did he begin his journey on stage and in front of a camera.

From middle school age into Highschool, Alec would fall more and more into arts, with

being a percussionist in the school band and becoming the Drum Major, to joining the drama

class, all while experimenting in other physical disciplines such as Trapeze, Stuntwork

(jumping off a 35 foot lodge on to a pad at 12 years old), and sports. It wasn’t until doing

plays in Highschool, starting with Godspell and singing “all good gifts” did he begin to feel

pulled more and more into the theatre world. Taking class, doing plays, and learning through

workshops at state festivals, Alec would become more and more passionate about his dream

of being a performer.

At 16, Alec spent his junior year of Highschool abroad in the south-west of Germany.

While there, he became fluent in the German language. But before becoming fluent, there

was a moment of epiphany. Early on in his year, while seeing a professional play with his

German Highschool, Alec was shocked to see find that while he could not understand the

language quite yet, he understood the emotions and story through observation of the body

language, vocal work, and technical context. He attributes this to having worked on his first

shakespeare play, “Twelfth Night” as Sebastian as to how he could understand without

understanding, giving him a foundation of learning that would allow him to become fluent in

the German language with no prior practice within the 1 year of his study abroad.

Post highschool, back in the U.S.A., Alec would continue performing in school and with

community theaters, eventually leading to producing a full length play written and directed

by himself about the experience of separation from one’s cultural heritage and family due to

Americanization, further learning through classes, and performing in a workshop production

of a new musical by pulitzer finalist Lisa D’amour. He would spend some time working on

indie short film and other theatre before making the transition to New York City.

Alec moved to New York City right around the cool-down of pandemic restrictions to

attend the Atlantic Acting School. Once there, he found a community of artists and mentors

that would propel him to the next level. Over the next few years, Alec would founded his own

theatre company with his peers and directed their first production, “Polaroid Stories” by

Naomi IIzuka, as well as performing in and helping to develop new works in the downtown

scene, mainly at Theater For The New City, and gained many stage combat and stunt skills in

regional outdoor drama,as well as most recently performing on the off-broadway Atlantic

Stage 2 in both “Black Snow” directed by Sara Holdren and “The Last Days of Judas Iscariot”

by Stephen Adley Guirgus. Alec continues to hone his tools as an artist/human through

collaborative creation and exploration into the ever evolving landscape of what it means to be

alive today.
